@ZeroIntensity AFAIK, your approval on an automated backport is sufficient for the RM.

The devguide says:

You cannot skip the peer review during an RC, no matter how small! Even if it is a simple copy-and-paste change, everything requires peer review from a core team member.

So for example, if Miss Islington opens a backport of your PR, then your approval on the backport doesn't count as peer review -- you're reviewing your own change.

But you can approve a backport from someone else.

In this case, @ZeroIntensity's approval of wiomoc's PR is good.
